Longford Village Hall Welcomes You
Your Community Facility in Longford
A huge thank you to all those who made the Longford Jubilee Fete a huge success! It was great to see the community come together and have, we hope, an enjoyable time with friends.
Thanks in particular go to:
Our wonderful volunteers and committee members who spent the day working hard to make the event a success.
The children who took part in the Kings and Queens fancy dress parade and brightened everyone's day
The stall holders who made a great contribution.
The Innsworth Military Wive's Choir for their wonderful Singing
The Gloucester Strings (G-Strings) band and Mr Grumpy who played wonderfully all day and really got the crowd going!
The children of Longford Primary Academy who made some of the wonderful bright and colourful bunting for our decorations in the Hall.
Thank you to all those who generously donated raffle prizes, Nortons Garden Centre, Co-Op, Mussel End Farm, Tesco, CRE Associates, Hatton Hotel and several local residents.
As a result of the success we have been asked to organise an annual Summer Fayre. Whilst this has yet to be confirmed, please watch this space for more news!
We did manage to take some photos of the day, so please go to our Gallery Page to see if you feature!
Re-Opening & AGM
Many of you will have seen the results of the work that has been carried out at the Village Hall when you came to the Fete. We will be formally opening the Hall on the 28th June starting at 6.30pm with the opening at 7.00pm. We will be serving tea and coffee to everyone and the committee will be available to discuss any ideas you may have for a future fete and any improvement ideas that you may have.
Following the opening we will be holding the long overdue Annual General Meeting (AGM) for the Village Hall. Due to Covid there has been no AGM since 2019.
The meeting is open to the public and will feature the following:
The Chair's report that will summarise the activities over the last almost 3 years.
The Treasure's report to explain how the Hall's income has been derived and what we have done with it.
The resignation of the current committee and election of a new one - this is your ideal opportunity to volunteer to make a difference in Longford!
As a public meeting, the committee will take questions from the attendees, so if you have a burning question or idea please come and let yourself be heard.
Village Hall for Hire in Longford
The Village Hall is a community run, self funding facility that is run as a charity. In order to provide activities and enable people to book private events we rely on a very small Committee to keep the facility open and viable.
The Hall has the following facilities: a large hall with a stage for events; a kitchen with a large oven and hob; fridges for drinks and food; a hot water boiler and a limited amount of crockery.
Please note the the Village Hall and this website are run completely independently of Longford Parish Council. Whilst we are separate entities we often collaborate to provide activities and services to the community.
For more information, comments and suggestions for improvements to this website are welcome, please use the contact form below.
