Village Hall Improvements

As many of you may know, as part of the conditions to gain planning permission for the new estate a substantial sum of money was lodged with Tewkesbury Borough Council for improvement to the Village Hall.

The Parish Council and Village Hall Committee have been meeting regularly to ensure that the monies will be spent wisely and properly. We ran 2 surveys over 2019 and have been able to identify the priorities that you have given us and agree that the next stage can be started. The clear message we got from all respondents was to 'get on with it' and that is what we will do.

  • The next Parish Council Meeting will be asked to agree in principle that an extension can be added to the Village Hall (the PC own the land).

  • The Village Hall Committee will be meeting with building designers to discuss

    • what is affordable with the monies that we have

    • how we might phase improvements as money becomes available

    • the overall cost to be able to apply for grants to cover all that we want to do

    • and make a final decision on the renovations, extension and phasing of the work

  • The Parish Council and Liaison Committee will be kept informed of the decisions that are being made and the progress that is being made.

Please watch this space as we get more news and can let you know what is happening. We intend that people will see works starting to happen in the next few months.

We would like to keep the Hall open and available to you  for as long as possible during the extension and renovation programme, but inevitably there will be periods of closure.

Thank you all for your support and patience.
